What is included in apartment cost?
Monthly costs include rent, utilities, internet, phone, parking and insurance. Move-in costs include deposit, agency fee, furniture, moving costs and other setup expenses.
Should deposit be included?
Yes. The deposit is one of the largest upfront costs and must be budgeted separately from the first month rent.
How is first month total different from monthly cost?
The first month total includes both the regular monthly cost and all one-time move-in costs (deposit, agency, furniture, moving). After the first month, only the regular monthly cost applies.
Should furniture be included?
Include the cost of any furniture or basic items you need to buy when moving in. If the apartment is furnished, enter zero.
Can I use this before moving?
Yes. Enter your expected rent and costs for the new apartment to estimate the total upfront budget needed.
